County House Attic-Conversion and Observatory

A small but particularly unique example of our work is this observatory and south facing roof terrace overlooking the undulating Somerset hills.

In this country-house, in addition to some interior-design in the principal rooms, we converted the old servants’ quarters in the attic into a flexible, well-appointed apartment with two bedrooms and bathrooms, an indoor open plan living/kitchen/dining area, plus an exceptional roof terrace equipped with a regency-style observatory. After surveying the original building, a variety of new plans were explored before arriving at the final designs.

“We have loved working with Philip. He has both honed in on our style and the
kinds of things we love at the same time as giving us fresh ideas and suggestions.”
